Just a quick, stupid, nerdy little comic I drew after reading some of my Bio textbook.
Yes, I'm a geek. If you can't read my handwriting, here's the text. Male cell: *waiting by a sign* Sign: Blood Bus Stop to Liver Female cell: *arrives* Female cell: OMIGAWD! Lookit your DNA! You've mutated! Male cell: What? WHERE?! Protein 53: *TWEET* Did somebody call a Protein 53? Female cell: Yes, officer, this cell is mutated! Protein 53: *holds out sword* Then you're going to need this, sir. Female cell: I can't watch. *leaves* Male cell: But... wait... Protein 53: Go ahead. Do the honorable thing. Male cell: *sigh* To end my dishonor... Male cell: *stabs self with the sword* KA-SPLUT! Protein 53: *TWEET* Cleanup duty at the bus stop! Male cell: *dead* |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. Haha, I love things like this (although in this particular one I don't quite know what's going on). Back in 9th grade we had to write and/or draw a "cellular soap opera", and this reminds me of that so so much.

Apoptosis is the cellular process of, essentially, self destruction. When the cell has gone bad in some way, usually by faulty DNA, protein 53 comes along and activates its suicide function, and it goes kabloom. So I ran with it and the idea of harakiri.
